Safety Comes First — Wherever We’re Working
At Whitelocks, safety isn’t a side note — it’s part of the plan from day one. Whether we’re delivering aggregates, working in a quarry, managing environmental projects, or supplying plant to site, we take clear, practical steps to make sure every task is carried out safely and responsibly.
We don’t just meet the legal standards — we work actively to improve them. From clear risk assessments and safe systems of work to regular checks and hands-on supervision, we put the right people, processes, and kit in place to support safer working across the board.
We Train Our Teams to Think Safe
Our people don’t just follow safety rules — they understand why they matter. Everyone at Whitelocks takes part in regular training, so they know how to spot risks, take the right precautions, and work confidently in all kinds of environments.
All of our plant operators and drivers hold CPCS cards, our ground teams are CSCS certified, and our site supervisors and managers are trained to SSSTS or SMSTS level. From quarry-specific inductions and traffic plans to lifting procedures and emergency drills, we make sure our teams arrive ready to work safely — every time.
Equipment That’s Always Safe and Site-Ready
When you hire from Whitelocks, you get more than just a machine — you get peace of mind. Every item in our fleet is inspected, serviced, and signed off before it leaves the yard. We handle all maintenance in-house and make sure LOLER and PUWER checks are up to date.
Need specific attachments, instructions, or safety features for your site? No problem — we’ll get it sorted before it arrives.
On-Site Support That Keeps Things Moving
We don’t disappear after delivery. Our team stays hands-on and in contact, offering support throughout the job. That includes toolbox talks, site visits, spot checks, and help with method statements or site-specific issues if they come up.
Our RAMS aren’t just templates — they’re carefully prepared for each job. Every set we produce is specific to the site, the task, and the real risks involved. And as the work changes, so do the RAMS. If a new method or task comes in, we update them straight away. It’s a simple but important way we help keep everyone safe, from the first day on site to the last.
We believe in speaking up and acting early — because small problems caught early are easier (and cheaper) to fix than big ones that get ignored.

Exceptional standard
We have been using Whitelocks’ vac ex for over a year now and they have always provided a first class service. The team in the office are always very reactive to our demands and the vac ex operatives are very knowledgeable and approachable. We have reduced cable sites across the board to zero.
